The method of detecting the working height of the carburetor oil float

Whether the working height of the carburetor oil float meets the technical requirements has a great impact on whether the carburetor can work normally. When the carburetor is overhauled and adjusted, the working height of the oil float needs to be tested to confirm whether its working height meets the technical requirements. The commonly used detection method is to remove the carburetor from the engine, twist the fastening screws of the float chamber, remove the float chamber shell, and then turn the carburetor body upside down, so that the oil float will naturally droop under the action of its own weight. Close the triangular needle valve, and then use a special measuring tool to detect whether the working height of the oil float meets the technical requirements. Most carburetors can use this method for detection. However, some carburetor (such as vacuum carburetor more) can not use this method for testing, mainly triangular needle end of the spring elasticity is not the same. The spring at the end of the triangular oil needle of this carburetor is especially soft. When detecting the working height of the oil float, the carburetor body is inverted. Under the action of its own weight, the oil float not only closes the triangular needle valve, but also compresses the spring at the end of the triangular oil needle. As a result, the actual working height of the oil float is much lower than the standard height. Therefore, it is difficult to ensure the correctness of the detection data, it also brings some trouble to correctly adjust the working height of the oil float, but the use of this triangular needle valve has certain advantages. When the motorcycle is driving on uneven roads, it will produce greater vibration, and the oil level of the carburetor will fluctuate, and the oil float will float up and down under its influence. Ordinary triangular needle will open the triangular needle valve abnormally frequently, which will lead to abnormal oil level, it has a certain impact on the normal operation of the engine, and the special soft spring at the end of the triangle oil needle can avoid and eliminate this situation. When the triangular needle valve works, the triangular needle valve is closed first, and then the spring at the tail end of the triangular oil needle is compressed. Therefore, when the oil level fluctuates greatly, the oil float will float up and down, but due to the buffering effect of the spring at the tail end of the triangular needle, the triangular needle valve will not be opened abnormally frequently, thus ensuring that the oil level always maintains a normal height. Therefore, the carburetor equipped with this kind of triangular oil needle, the working height of the oil float cannot be detected by regular methods. The detection method that should be used is to remove the carburetor and remove the float chamber shell, use a clean rubber tube about 200mm long, insert one end into the oil inlet nozzle of the carburetor, and hold the other end in the mouth. Hold the carburetor with both hands according to the working position, while blowing continuously, while gently lifting the oil float with your fingers, when blowing, the air will produce airflow noise through the unclosed triangular needle valve, when the sound of the air flow just disappeared, it means that the triangular needle valve has been closed. At this time, the position of the oil float is the working height of the oil float. The finger immediately stops supporting the oil float and keeps the original position still. Then use a special measuring tool for testing to confirm whether the working height of the oil float meets the technical requirements.
